THE BRAND & OEM PERSPECTIVE

Your product story has to survive the journey.

Connect the source specifications, the customer’s use case and the retailer representation. Find where meaningful differentiation gets lost.

· Perspective & practice
01 / For brands & OEMs

Translate a feature into a buying reason

A specification is most useful when its relevance is explained for a real task. Identify the buyer need it supports, the limitations that matter and the evidence behind the claim. Avoid turning a technical maximum into a universal performance promise.

The goal is a defensible product story that remains coherent in technical documentation, product pages, partner material and machine-readable representations. Consistency should preserve nuance, including situations where another product is a better fit.

02 / For brands & OEMs

Follow the information into the channel

Sample important product variants across priority retailers and markets. Compare the authoritative specification with what is visible on the retailer page, in structured data and in available feeds. A discrepancy register is more actionable than an average completeness score.

  • ↗Separate a missing fact from a conflicting fact.
  • ↗Check whether the issue affects a family or a particular variant.
  • ↗Give the partner a verified correction and a reproducible validation step.
03 / For brands & OEMs

Measure relevance beyond the brand name

Investigate whether the right model is recommended for the right need and whether the explanation describes the real differentiators. Track incorrect specifications and unsupported claims alongside omissions. Visibility accompanied by the wrong product information is a separate problem from invisibility.

Keep a market and retailer view in the analysis. A global brand conclusion can conceal a local offer problem, a translation issue or a product variant that is not sold in the relevant country.
